When we kicked things off with RootMetrics, they were distributing reports in PDF format to their customers. With reports for each state and metro area, there were a lot of reports to compile and making use of the data and findings was painful.
Customers needed an application that they could search, filter, and drill into. The deep and complex dataset also lacked data visualizations, forcing customers to read insights rather than see them.
Finally, an application would have to work for both Wireless Network Engineers when finding and troubleshooting networking issues, and Marketers looking opportunities to advertise their edge on the competition.
UXA worked closely with RootMetrics's product, data science, and development teams. We also gathered feedback directly from customers, sharing prototypes and product vision during the development cycle.
We designed interactive maps, allowing customers to drill into individual tests to better understand their performance. Rich data visualizations supported the data set and allowed users to see patterns underlying their RootScores.
We supported RootMetrics through multiple product cycles, adding new features and refining existing ones.
RootInsight was a success with customers, allowing them to engage with the dataset, improve their network performance, and better compete.
Since the product release, RootMetrics has been acquired by IHS Markit, and recently by Ookla
"RootMetrics needed a better way to share our network performance data with customers, and Matt and his team came through. Their application design allowed our telecom customers to better understand their network performance. Despite our very large complex data set, UXanimal expertly organized it and presented it to our users in easy-to-navigate and visually appealing charts and maps. Our customers were extremely impressed when RootInsights launched."
